Good morning Kadet!
In these trainings you will learn a lot about the differnt types of bombers we use to fly in our SEOW campaigns. The basic stages of the training will teach you:
- how to take off
- read the three main types of radio navigation compass
- detach I-16's
- land and taxi to a designated parking position
The Levelbombing training will go one step further and you will learn:
- the three types of bombsights
- levelbombing with bomsight automation ON and OFF
- how to handle metric and imperial scaled gauges.
Then, after you improve you skills a little bit more, you earn another nice badge from your Training Officer in the Dive-Bombing training and finally in the Advanced Section we will talk about Glider tow operations.

Basic Training | Levelbombing

Basic Training | Divebombing
This training is something special and only fo advanced pilots. You already know how to Levelbomb in a Pe-2 but this aircarft also has mavelous Dive-bombing abilities!

Basic Training | Glider operations
Comrades, in order to complete this training missions & qualify you must:
- Be a fully qualified Bapper
- The GvBAP T.O has selected you for this ‘Specialised Glider Tow Training’.
During the course of this training you will become proficient in the safe handling of Glider Tow Operations & will be able to deploy Specialized Ground Troops directly into combat zones, during day & night operations, wherever this may be.
After successful completion of this Training you will proudly be presented with the =69.GIAP= Glider Tow Pilot wings.
For the duration of this training you will be taking off & landing from our Secret Training Area in the Concrete Airfield AO33/3. If the mission commences as an =Airstart=, your briefing will include an =Airstart= grid ref.
You are already an experienced & hardened pilot & are expected to:
- Read your brief & ask questions if necessary.
- Follow waypoints.
- Deploy the glider & troops within a reasonable range from the target area.
- Ensure that the glider lands before you stop recording.
- You must also land without damaging your aircraft.
- Not complain about difficulties encountered, this is a specialized unit, your either up to it or not!
The Bapper T.O is responsible for reviewing your training missions & will grade you with a Pass or Fail. He will also advise improvements in your techniques.
Cameras have been deployed on the ground to assist your T.O in grading you. Once you & the glider have landed, you may stop recording. Recordings are to be done using the .ntrk method.
Settings during training:
Everything full real except ‘Speed bar’ (no externals)Level stabilizer may only be used on the Night Mission.You may not use autopilot at any point, on any mission, so make sure that you switch this option off (in game menu).
The release procedure is as following, well it is basically an instruction to the glider to release on your command.
- Press Tab (for the wingman communication menu), then
- press 6 (Squadron), then
- press 8 (Tactical) and then press 1 (Break)
The glider will detach immediately and confirm that it has detached. It will also keeps altitude and its last heading.
