Aircraft in the "GeeYap" Livery
First, we start with the main aircraft of the squad:

The 69th Gv.IAP in WWII were originally formed from the 10th IAP on the 18th of March 1943, and they began to fly the P-39 Airacobra from August 1943, and continued to fly them until the end of the war. Because of this, we also like to fly the P-39 Airacobra as the GeeYap's main aircraft, and of course, we needed a suitable paint scheme. This is a non personalised skin created by ROSHKO which can be used on all models of P-39 currently in the game (including the P-400). |
For the rest of the aircraft, we just picked the ones we liked:
Polikarpov I-16 "Ishak" The I-16 Ishak (Little Donkey) is a lovely aircraft which just about everyone in the squad enjoys, and so naturally, we had to deck it out in some fancy colours!! This skin was created by ZULU, and is personalised with identification letters specific to each pilot within the GeeYap. It can fit over all models of the I-16 currently in the game. |

Polikarpov I-153 "Chaika" This is also a favourite of the GeeYap, and most certainly of the GeeShap. Here you see the aircraft decked out in it's fighter livery. This skin is a non personalised skin created by TOOZ. (This is a WIP skin) |
North American P-51D "Mustang" Here we have the P-51D-5NT Mustang fighter which we received around December of 2003 in a patch. Despite the fact that the VVS never flew the P-51 during WWII, the hysteria over this aircraft (as well as the Japanese A6M5 "Zero" and Ki-84 "Frank" fighter aircraft which came in the same patch) was such that almost everyone was flying them (including us) so we decked her out in GeeYap colours!!
This skin was created by ZULU and has personalised identification letters for each squad member. This skin will fit over the P-51D-5NT and the P-51D-20NA. ZULU also created personalised USAAF P-51 skins for the squad which can be found in the private files section. |

Lavockin La-5 Here is another aircraft which we have spent a lot of time in, particularly flying in online wars such as Forgotten Skies: the Lavockin La-5 (and La-5F and La-5FN). Here is a general, non personalised skin we have in the GeeYap colours which fits over all of the La-5 and La-7 models currently in the game. This skin was modified by VENOM from the personalised skins, and he went to great pains to make it look as though it has been in a war and is a flying piece of junk!!! Great skin!! |
Curtiss P-40 "Tomahawk" Here we have a favourite of the GeeYap, and an aircraft that has been flown an inordinate amount of times in the Forgotten Skies online war. The P-40 is a great aircraft (especially since Oleg fixed the roll rate sometime in December 2003!!) that is very versatile, and can handle itself very well in a dogfight. So we decked her out in GeeYap colours. This skin on the right was created by ZULU and was modified by VENOM. The first thing VENOM did was to add the teeth, as no P-40 looks right without big sharp teeth!!! Both skins will fit over the P-40E, P-40E-M-105, and P-40M models in the game. |

The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb And here we have a skin created by VENOM for the Spitfire Mk.Vb. The Spitfire is a pretty famous aircraft by all accounts, and when we received this aircraft with the release of the Ace's Expansion Pack in April 2004, we thought we should give her a nice paint scheme. This non personalised skin was made for the clipped wing (CW) version of the Mk.Vb, and so doesn't really fit onto the standard versions of the aircraft. This skin will fit onto the Spitfire Mk.Vb (CW) and the Spitfire L.F. Mk.Vb (CW). |
Mikoyan Guriyevich MiG-3U The MiG-3U is a fast, and sleek looking aircraft, and looks good with GeeYap colours!! This skin was created by MYATA. It is a non personalized skin made for the MiG-3U only. (WIP skin) |
