The Mosquito or ‘Mossie’ as it was known, excelled in a number of roles. Made of Plywood it was a highly fast & maneuverable bomber that could be flown as a fighter. On one occasion a lost mosquito flew over our base & into our Mongolian AAA artillery. Damaged & escorted by our standing patrol, this RAF chaps where forced to land & after lots of Vodka, caviar & a visit to the Local Cooperative Farmers Dauhgter’s club next to our camp, they were sent packing back to there lines, with the promise that we would return the aircraft to our allies once it was patched up……to date we have still not returned it!! A total of around 7,780 where built.
Our brave 69.Giap bomber pilots (BAP) enjoy this aircrafts speed, armarment & bombload, flown normally during RAF campaigns, it is used as a multirole bomber/fighter/interceptor & photo recconissance.
