Top Dog Ladder Rules

You must challenge a pilot above you to do battle in the official GIAP 1941 dogfight arena. The challenge is posted in the top dog thread in the matches and challenges forum and the challenger choses the plane from those available in the official 1941 dogfight mission.

The pilot challenged has two weeks to accept the challenge and to propose a meeting at a reasonable time. The only valid reason for declining a challenge is to be already under challenge from another challenger. Should the challenge not be acknowledged or accepted the challenger will change places in the ladder. A losing pilot must fight at least one other opponent before challenging the winner again.

The two pilots chose whatever loadout they want, will take off from opposing islands (or carriers if specified) and meet over the crescent island at 3000 metres for fighters and 2000 metres for bombers. Visual must be established, confirmed and both players announce Game On before hostilities commence. Combat must start with a non firing head on pass.

To win a round you must kill or force to bail your opponent and land alive on the Island (or carrier if specified) from which you took off. Crashing on the beach (or deck) and surviving counts. Anything else is either a loss or a draw. A downed pilot may concede the landing if he is sure that his victorious opponent will make it back for a safe landing - but there is no pressure for him to do so as many pilots take less than full fuel loads.

The challenger must beat his opponent in the best of 3 rounds to exchange positions on the ladder. In the case of a draw positions stay unchanged.

Any dispute concerning the rules or anything else in the universe will be decided by the XO according to his whim and humour.

In order to get on the ladder you must fight a challenge.

Now get challenging you malingering Kulags. You start at the bottom and we want to see blood in the sand.
