For Starshina Redvo, the romance & chivalry of the skies are a myth & a load of bullocks! The message he drums into our 69.GIAP Shap Pilots (Ground Attack) is simple, savage & cruel: You are not a fighter, so don't get any false illusions, don't look for a fight, look for a clear gap in the enemies defences. Your 'priority' and 'mission' is to destroy the enemies army and ground war capabilities....halting them dead on their traks! This will allow our troops to bravely and gloriously advance in a hope of winning this war!
If you ever have to engage an enemy aircraft, make sure that you shoot the enemy in the back before he even knows that you are there and don't stop shooting until his wings blow off! If not....you will burn miserably in your cockpit!
As the grim years of the Second World War in the Eastern Front go by, the destruction of our enemies ground forces is the Shap's priority. We must achieve this, with the minimal loss to our pilots, aircraft & resources. Whether clearing the path for our brave advancing Mongolian troops or halting the enemies big push, you will carry out your orders, maintain discipline, protect your wing & strive to return alive...so that 'you' and 'your aircraft' may get to fly another Glorious mission for our beloved Motherland!
Redvo's combat skills began quite some time ago, learning the 'basics' like 'how to take off' & 'Basic Combat Maneuvers' from that malingering Cossack himself and all those friendly Shappers who always offered to help, whenever needed. Finally and through hard work, he achieved his wings & proudly remembers how during his home leave, he was received as a local hero in his home town, his mother wept with pride, bless her!
Now a veteran of many campaigns, Redvo still remembers those early days of the 'Spanish Civil War', flying as a Rookie with his comrades in those antiquated aircraft, against the modern might of the Nationalist Air force, the Legion Condor & those Italian Fascisti's!!! His first aerial victory was achieved in this campaign, operating from Zaragoza & on a routine Gttk mission, he managed with the help of his squad mates to shoot down a Legion Condor Bf109.

Since those early days, Starshina Redvo, with the aid of the 'Poodle' (his gunner) are now part of the Shap Trg Wing, training, reviewing & qualifying new Shap ground attack pilots in our interesting & varied 'Shap trg pack'. He expects nothing but the best from his pilots any malingering will be dealt with sharply and the issuing of 'Latrine duties orders' normally sorts this out.... If not....a few words with the bearded woman will ensure that you don't lift your rear from that cockpit seat until all training is finalized to the highest standards.
Flying is all about teamwork and supporting each other, get it in your head quickly and you will survive to fight another day!
