Level, Dive & Torpedo Bomber Aircraft

On this page you will find a list of those flyable aircraft which are present in the game which the GeeYap considers to be Level and/or Dive Bomber aircraft. The clarification of these categories are important when claiming kills to be displayed on your badge, as pilots flying a mission in any of these aircraft are excluded from claiming ground kills. Instead, they will claim a Bombing Sortie mark to be displayed on their badge.

In order for an aircraft to be placed into either the Level or Dive Bomber category, the aircraft must meet the first of the criteria listed below, together with at least one other:

Level Bombers

Mitsubishi G4M1-11
Heinkel He-111 H-2Heinkel He-111 H-6
Tupolev TB-3 4M-34R, SPB

Dive Bombers

Aichi D3A1
Junkers Ju-87B-2Junkers Ju-87D-3
Junkers Ju-87D-5

Torpedo Bombers

There are some exceptions to the Ground Kills rule where some other aircraft are not able to claim ground kills in certain situations. This situation is when the player flies in a mission with an aircraft armed with a torpedo.

Because ships in Forgotten Battles/Pacific Fighters require in some cases up to 8 or 9 torpedoes to sink them, it is not entirely fair for the last person who sees the "enemy ship destroyed" message, to receive the large amount of points that come with this kill. So, instead, when the player uses an aircraft armed with a torpedo, they will claim a Bomber Sortie mark for their badge (so long as they make it back to base, or avoid capture and death).

If in a mission you are not flying a torpedo carrying aircraft, but your mission is to attack shipping with bombs or rockets, no matter what aircraft you are flying, you will be credited with a bomber sortie if you survive the mission, and are not captured. Again, the reason for this is due to the inordinate amount of points allocated to the player who receives the "enemy ship destroyed" message regardless of how many players attacked the same ship.

Shown below are the flyable aircraft which carry a torpedo:
